## Origin of the Dashboard

The Arbitrum Governance Analytics Dashboard was proposed after our active involvement in the ArbitrumDAO as delegates from its inception. Through firsthand experience participating in governance activities, we recognized a clear need for a dedicated tool to enhance transparency, track governance dynamics, and measure the success of community initiatives like Redelegation Week. This realization led us to propose the Arbitrum Governance Analytics Dashboard, with the intention to support ongoing governance initiatives and foster data-driven decision-making within the Arbitrum community.

* **Like:** Number of likes you’ve given to other members’ posts.
* **Timeline View:** Displays activity distributed over time (e.g., weekly or monthly), making it easy to identify periods of high or low engagement.

* Reflects how **easy or difficult** the delegate’s content is to read and comprehend.

* Useful for evaluating how accessible the delegate’s posts are to a wide audience.

* Highlights the **most frequently used terms** in the delegate’s content.
* Larger words indicate higher frequency, providing a snapshot of the delegate’s primary topics and focus areas.

The **Response** section measures **your responsiveness and engagement behavior** in the forum. It’s split into two parts:

Measures how quickly you respond to comments in topics **you created**.

* **Average Reply Time:** The average amount of time it takes you to reply to someone commenting on your topic.
* **Fastest/Slowest Reply:** Highlights the range of responsiveness — from immediate replies to delayed engagement.
* **Reply Rate:** The percentage of comments in your topics that you replied to.
* **Distribution Chart:** Shows how quickly you tend to respond to comments in your threads (e.g., under 30 minutes, 6–24 hours, 3–7 days).

**Response in others topic**

Tracks how quickly you post comments in topics **created by others**.

* **Average Reply Time:** The average time it takes you to leave a comment after a new topic is created.
* **Fastest/Slowest Response:** The shortest and longest time it took you to comment after the topic was posted.
* **Distribution Chart:** Displays how your responses are spread over time (e.g., within 12 hours, 1–2 weeks, 3–4 weeks), helping illustrate your typical engagement pattern with others’ discussions.

The **Content Performance** section provides a detailed breakdown of how your topics and posts are performing, helping you understand engagement levels and visibility.

## **What is Forum Score**

Forum Score is designed to provide a **quantifiable measure** of a delegate’s activity and engagement in DAO governance discussions. It captures off-chain contributions, such as forum discussions and comments, ensuring that constructive participation is recognized. By aggregating diverse metrics, it offers a more comprehensive evaluation of delegate engagement and contributions.

## **Why Did We Build It?** <a href="#p-67660-why-did-we-build-it-2" id="p-67660-why-did-we-build-it-2"></a>

Governance is more than just voting; it is shaped by discussions, proposals, and deliberations. However, off-chain interactions often go unnoticed. Forum Score surfaces this data, offering DAOs a more complete assessment of delegate participation beyond voting records. By recognizing diverse forms of engagement, it enhances transparency and provides a clearer picture of each delegate’s contribution on governance.

## **How is Forum Score Calculated?**

Forum Score aggregates several key metrics from governance activities. The calculation involves three main components, with all data points first converted into percentile scores for fair comparison across users.

Eligibility Requirement: To be included in Forum Score calculations, a user must meet at least [Trust Level 1](https://blog.discourse.org/2018/06/understanding-discourse-trust-levels/) on the forum.

### **A. Proposal Score** <a href="#p-67660-a-proposal-score-4" id="p-67660-a-proposal-score-4"></a>

This score measures the contributions of a user in creating and discussing proposals for the DAO in the forum.

#### **Metrics Included:** <a href="#p-67660-metrics-included-5" id="p-67660-metrics-included-5"></a>

* **Proposal Initiations:** This metric measures the percentile of the amount of proposals a user has created.
* **Proposal Discussions:** This metric measures the percentile of the amount of posts a user has created under a proposal thread.
* **Proposal Likes Received:** This metric measures the percentile of the average amount of likes a user received from their proposals and posts within a proposal thread.

**Note**: For this component, we only selected posts in the following proposal-related categories:
